About Us

Our Strategy

Education is our long-term strategy for sustainability in Galápagos.
Fundación Scalesia works through two complementary initiatives that address education both inside the classroom and across the public education system.

This impact doesn’t happen by chance. It is the result of a long-term strategy and sustained collaboration.

Our Strategy

Tomás de Berlanga School

Educating Future Leaders
Through Tomás de Berlanga School, our model school, we provide high-quality, contextualized education rooted in Galápagos.
To date, 165 students have graduated from Tomás de Berlanga School—young people prepared academically and personally to lead and serve their communities.

Teacher Training in Public Schools

Strengthening Education at Scale
Beyond our school, Fundación Scalesia works across all public schools in the province, in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Ecuador. For over a decade, we have trained the 400+ public-school teachers every year. In parallel, we have developed approximately 50 pedagogical leaders who now support, mentor, and improve teaching practices within their schools and districts.

Our Mission

We are a nonprofit organization based in the Galápagos Islands that strengthens the local capacities of children, youth, and educators through high-quality education, professional development, and curriculum contextualization, in order to build a sustainable future.

A passionate team committed to empowering Galápagos’ next generation.
