Our Projects

What We Do

At Fundación Scalesia, our work goes beyond individual programs. We operate as an intermediary organization that connects schools, educators, and public institutions to strengthen education across Galápagos.

Our projects are organized around three complementary lines of action that reinforce one another and allow for both deep and systemic impact.

What we do - Fundacion Scalesia projects

Tomás de Berlanga School

Through Tomás de Berlanga School, our model school, we provide high-quality, bilingual, and contextualized education rooted in the realities of Galápagos. The school serves as a space to pilot, refine, and demonstrate educational practices that place students at the center of learning and prepare them to become critical, engaged citizens.

Sustainability for the Galapagos Islands

Teacher Training in Public Schools

In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Fundación Scalesia works across public schools throughout the province, supporting continuous professional development for teachers and the formation of local pedagogical leaders. This work allows effective practices to scale beyond a single school and strengthen the public education system as a whole.

Contextualized Curriculum with a focus on Sustainability for the Galapagos Islands

Fundación Scalesia actively supports the implementation of the Contextualized Curriculum with a focus on Sustainability for the Galapagos Islands, which connects national learning standards with the social, cultural, and environmental realities of Galápagos. We do this through technical support, resource development, and collaboration with educators and institutions.

Join us in shaping the future of Galápagos

Together, these projects reflect our commitment to long-term impact—linking classroom practice, teacher development, and collective action to ensure that education in Galápagos is relevant, high-quality, and sustainable.
